Dreamers

Sorry....  Have been away for so long ... disconnected, no access... But here I am again... So I saw this quote and I loved it! Hope you love it too.

"The world needs dreamers and the world needs doers. But above all, the world needs dreamers who do"

The word Love

An interpretation of the word LOVE

Love is waking to the image of a small silhouette laying next to you and smiling
Love is cleaning “around” a message carefully drawn with soap on the shower glass
Love is hearing the sound of a voice that calms your mind
Love is the warmth of a look
Love is holding someone without touch
Love is watching a child create, explore, learn and imagine
Love is hearing a child’s laughter
Love is catching them if they fall
Love is carrying them when they’re weak
Love is the sound of notes
Love is a hand covered in chalk, the smell of paint or ink stains on your fingers
Love is unspoken, everlasting and its everywhere...  You just have to open your eyes and see
LOVE IS

She walks in beauty

She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellow'd to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o'er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.

And on that cheek, and o'er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

I Believe

I BELIEVE IN PINK.
I BELIEVE LAUGHING
IS THE BEST CALORIE BURNER
I BELIEVE IN KISSING
IN KISSING A LOT.
I BELIEVE IN BEING STRONG
WHEN EVERYTHING SEEMS
TO BE GOING WRONG.
I BELIEVE THAT HAPPY GIRLS
ARE THE PRETTIEST GIRLS
I BELIEVE THAT TOMORROW
IS ANOTHER DAY.
I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES.

What Sacrifice?‏

Are you waiting for the resurrection? Waiting for God to wield his almighty power once again? My bigger problem with the hypothetical appearance of God is the feeling that if he did show up so what, I find the God of the bible a reprehensible character.

It is up to us as humans to live by an acceptable moral standard. Yet the problem arises when one believes, for example, that the God of the bible has any relevance when it comes down to a moral standard to live by.

The god of the bible is inferior when talking of what is real in the way of moral actions and ideals. For example I feel that any that advocate slavery is morally inferior. Any that advocate genocide, slaughter, infanticide, human and animal sacrifice is morally inferior. Someone who offers infinite punishment and rewards for finite crimes and deeds is morally inferior. Someone who creates a system knowing that the people are not going to live up to its standards, yet spends thousands of years punishing them for his own failures basically trying to fix his own mistakes, is morally inferior. Adam and Eve, banished from the garden, the great flood, the Tower of Babel, etc. There's failure after failure after failure until he comes up with the only loophole the "creator" of the universe can come up with. Instead of just forgiving everybody, or changing the rules, being all powerful this should be very easy, he comes up with the idea of a sacrifice.

But is it really a sacrifice? Depending on your belief, you may believe that Jesus is God. In this sacrifice he comes to earth in human form and sacrifices it to alleviate all of the peoples sins. Of course death is only temporary and Jesus rises and ascends back up to heaven. Big deal. First off to think the blood of another can relieve you of sin would be a laughable thought if it wasn't so repulsive. This is really no more than just a version of the tradition from primitive man, where they believed they could pile all the sins of the tribe on a goat and then cast it out into the desert to die, thus taking all the sins with it. This is where the term scapegoat originates. Secondly if you are gullible and naive enough to believe that the killing of one thing restores the goodness of another, the crucifixion of Jesus was not all that amazing as he was after all supernatural and his death was only that of a body that meant nothing. There was no sacrifice because nothing was really lost. God knew that Jesus was not gone forever, so to call that the ultimate and loving sacrifice is a crock.

You can cherry pick things from the bible to prove goodness and love exist in the bible as well. But that just means it is an imperfect book, about an imperfect god, that has good days and bad days, surprisingly to some, just like man. Its not a coincidence. Here's a moral test, you against god. If god where to come to you and order you to kill a young child. An innocent child not able to hurt a soul or even commit sin. If you knew it was really god would you do it? Don't give me any line about how he wouldn't do such a thing either, he has in the past and this is based on what he has already proven capable of. Another example, if your children were to do something unspeakable like not love you, would you think it acceptable to lock them in the basement and torture them for eternity. Would that be an example of morality? What if you had something you loved so much and there was something harming them and you had the power to destroy it but chose not to. Would you consider that moral behavior? That would be Satan vs. gods children, yet god sits by and watches instead of allowing them to live in his grace only. Dictatorships are never moral positions, thus the god of the bible is either immoral or incompetent. Either way there's nothing to worry about, its only a badly written fairytale. Be kind and loving to your children, teach them respect, how to give and receive it, and don't be afraid to think for yourself about what is right and wrong. That is the only chance for real peace.

So if some god came to earth claiming to be the God of the bible, I could only hope he was lying, I would hate to think of an all powerful being with the mindset of first century man ruling the world.

Cheerleading

Another one from a young writter

We jump, we kick, some fly... others do splits.  Many people tumble all over the place.  I succeed and I fail.  It's not a surprise, everyone does.  My team is like family.  I'm dedicated... I'm a cheerleader.

School

The words from a young reader of ours - read herself at the last night of words..  without hesitation... She was the star of the night!

As I walk down the hallway I hear giggling, laughing and of course gossiping.  They bump into me without even noticing.  Not even an attempt to say sorry or anything like that. I see my friends, I wave "Hello". I unpack my bag, it's time to go.  What a rush, I just made the bell.  Now it's time to go to work in my studies.

For that I thank you!

Over the last few months of this literary adventure I have had the privilege of sharing in   many, many pieces from various people, some local, some miles away.   Some were reluctant to share only because of their insecurities in their work.  But I have to tell you each verse that has been written and read has shown to be extraordinary in every way. I’m honored that so many have opened their inner thoughts to share with me and our community.  The works have ranged from soul mates being found after years apart, loves lost, death and loss,  to true misunderstanding of where someone is or belongs in this world, to religion and the essence of our being as humans, philosophy of the world through their eyes. Every piece I receive I’m truly privileged to be part of, so for that I thank you.  I thank you for sharing.  Keep them coming and I will keep reading and sharing them.

Next NOW date pending due to travel conflicts... but we will have it!!  Stay tuned! and sharpen that pencil and WRITE... JUST WRITE!!!!

BTW....  Need our poet of the month...

A Moment

standing within solitude
the deepening and muddy groove
that holds so tight
wondering and wandering
listening silently and pondering
amid lifes roar
a moment that awakens me
opens me and sets me free
not torn upon surf-tormented shores
and cast to sea
being still and finding truths reality
closing my eyes to see

tangled up in to-and-fro
leaning evers never letting go
moments lost in shades of blue
realizing all i thought i knew
fretting within movement
forgetting to remember this is life
strength in weakness let it flow
get a firm grip let it go
thus truth beautifully frames my view
whilst bountifully reminding me to renew

every moment there is more and less
a roller coaster fear or happiness
twisting up and down
stealing breaths of air
 lest i forget
to take upon the moment
the moments only moment
a joyous birth of moment

remember to forget

Rumi

~no one who is sincere in his love is a slave to existence

~what is spent is love, and two eyes wet with weeping

Shantaram

There is a truth that is deeper than experience. It is beyond what we see, or even what we feel. It is an order of truth that separates the profound from the merely clever, and the reality from the perception. We are helpless, usually, in the face of it; and the cost of knowing it, like the cost of knowing love, is sometimes greater than any heart would willingly pay.

Shantaram - Gregory David Roberts

We could spend the rest of our life saying that we love such a person or thing, when the truth is that we are merely suffering because, instead of accepting love's strength, we are trying to diminish it so that it fits the world in which we imagine we live
